On Sunday 17th September 1-5pm, we are once again opening up our Ellicar Gardens and welcoming visitors to raise money for the National Garden Scheme charities. Our 5-acre family and wildlife gardens are full of late season colour, with perennials and grasses at their peak in September. Garden lovers and Wildlife enthusiasts alike will enjoy exploring Ellicar’s naturalistic borders overflowing with beautiful plants and wildlife.

It is also a great opportunity to explore our famous Natural Pool, with water lilies still in flower and its crystal clear water attracting swallows and unusual dragonflies. There is plenty of fun in store for families, with children’s activities and the chance to explore Ellicar’s school garden and willow maze.

Visitors can also say hello to the Sarah’s menagerie of Rare Breed Pets, including the friendly Golden Guernsey Goat herd, native ponies, pigs and poultry. We have other attractions including a Gardener’s Market with unusual Plant Sales, Locally Grown Cut Flowers and a Garden Raffle.

And after exploring the gardens, visitors can sit and relax beside the water with a cup of tea and a slice of delicious home baked cake,  served throughout the afternoon in the gardens by the local 2nd Ranskill Scouts.
