Our own naturalistic looking show pool, focal point of our garden and family life.
Built in 2010 as our family and show pool, this international and multiple award winning Natural Pool was designed to fit into our naturalistic garden and showcase our work.
The pool features two reclaimed millstone fountains- one of which was used by Sarah’s Grandfather on his farm.
Other features include a jetty, circular penny deck nestling amongst the reeds, a gently shelving beach with boulders, huge stepping-stones across the water and elegant curved, paved steps into the shallow end.
The submerged internal walls are finished with stone coping.
The pool is user friendly- 28m long so ideal for swimming lengths and the large shallow end and beach are perfect for younger children.
The deep end is 2.75m deep and crystal clear all year.
Along one side of our pool is a colourful bog garden and behind the pool are new perennial and grasses in flower meadows. On summer evenings we enjoy sitting on the sun deck surrounded by wildlife and flowers watching the sunset across the length of the pool and we have all become addicted to wild swimming.
Our show pool features in several publications and books, was seen on BBC2 and features on the front cover of ‘How to build a Natural Swimming Pool’ out now.
